DoubleLine Deputy CIO Jeffrey Sherman joins Barron’s Senior Managing Editors Lauren Rublin and Ben Levisohn to discuss navigating markets “in the fog” amid limited economic data and persistent inflation. Sherman shares his perspective on the Fed’s cautious stance toward further rate cuts, the ongoing tension between inflation and a cooling labor market, and what it all means for bond investors. Lauren then turns to Ben for a brief company earnings review (15:21–27:12) before returning to Sherman, who fields audience questions and highlights DoubleLine’s focus on quality credit, agency mortgages, and shorter maturities while avoiding high-risk debt. He also offers practical insights on TIPS, market liquidity, and fixed income education for investors.
